Do you have an old set of bagpipes tucked away in a closet, basement, attic, or family estate? Don't let them collect dust — let them inspire the next generation.
The School for Scottish Performing Arts & Music is launching a Bagpipe Amnesty across Canada and the United States. We are asking families, former pipers, pipe bands, veterans, and estates to donate unused bagpipes that are no longer being played.
Rather than collecting dust, these instruments can help inspire the next generation of musicians. Our school currently provides free bagpipe and drum instruction to youth throughout the Niagara Region, and every donated instrument will be refurbished, repaired if necessary, and placed into the hands of a young person eager to learn.
Many families have inherited pipes from a parent, grandparent, uncle, or military veteran. While these instruments often hold cherished memories, they are frequently left unused for years. Through the Bagpipe Amnesty Program, those instruments can once again be heard and appreciated.
Whether you have a complete set of pipes or a box of old parts, we would love to hear from you. Every donated instrument helps remove financial barriers and allows another young person to experience the rich traditions of Scottish music and culture.
Don't let a good set of bagpipes become a family heirloom that nobody can play. Give them a second life. Donate them to the next generation.
Reach out today and we'll arrange everything. Restoring instruments. Teaching youth. Preserving tradition — a complete program, completely FREE.
